n round 37 of the Premier League, Arsenal will march to Old Trafford to face Man United , in a key match this weekend (May 12).
Interviewed before the match, coach Mikel Arteta announced that the Gunners came to Manchester not to play, but to win.
When asked how he would feel if he failed, Mikel flatly refused to accept that thought. ” My mind is always on seeing the players lift the Premier League trophy . That’s what I’m focused on. I’m just following my intuition and my sense, and this is the feeling I want everyone to share and hope that we can achieve that goal.”
“We have to believe that the way we will play is effective. We will try to overcome our opponents and win. The end result may be different from what the team wants. But for now, this is not within our control.”

History is what both teams are aiming for this term, as Man City aim for a fourth successive top-flight title – something unprecedented in the competition’s history, while Arsenal aim Target won the Premier League championship for the first time in 20 years, since the 2003/04 season.
“We can only focus and determine what next steps we need to take. There are many tasks to complete. We understand that there can be unexpected changes in this tournament, and we just have to look to the past to expect that.”
As Arsenal is a direct competitor for the Premier League title with Manchester City – the team considered the strongest in world football for the past two years, Arteta feels very happy with the Gunners’ progress as they try trying to end The Citizens’ dominance in English football.
However, he feels that the whole team must continue to make efforts to go further, not only this season but also in the coming seasons.
“We are on a journey to try to catch up with Man City and play better than them, that’s what we need to do,” Arteta said. “That’s the inspiration to have such fierce competition like this. at, and it will make you better if someone challenges you to go further.”
“In Man City’s history, they have achieved many titles and consecutively won the Premier League. They have gone through an impressive journey in the past 10 to 15 years, but we want to change that. We are trying our best to improve and become more and more excellent.”

Arsenal definitely must win against MU to keep their hopes of winning the Premier League alive this season. Mikel Arteta’s army is currently leading the rankings with 83 points, only 1 point ahead of Man City but has played 1 more match.
