Ariana Grande seeks ‘real scandal’ for fame boost on SNL.

She found herself in hot water last year after she licked a donut that she hadn’t paid for.

But during her hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, Ariana Grande was in search of more controversy.

The 22-year-old singer served as both the host and musical guest on the iconic late-night variety show as she introduced herself to the audience as ‘A singer not a Starbucks drink.’

Hostess with the mostess: Ariana Grande served as both the host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live

‘A singer not a Starbucks drink’: The 22-year-old singer poked fun at her name in the monologue

‘It’s been a dream of mine to be on this stage since I was a little girl – which was two months ago,’ she joked in her opening monologue.

And it did not take the pop star long to poke fun at her own public missteps – including infamously licking a donut she had not paid for in a store.

‘Yes it was childish and stupid and I have learned that it is really time to grow up, I think I am in a place where I am ready to be caught in a real, adult scandal,’ she said.

Talented: She showcased her singing voice as she sang a song about being caught in a scandal

Having fun: The Focus hitmaker sang a song which came up with potential scandals including botox, making an anti-semitic Twitter joke, trashing a hotel room, or having a love child with Drake

Dynamic duo: At one point she was joined by castmember Cecily Strong who said she left her phone in her dressing room which could lead to a photo scandal

‘A real scandal you know? Something to take my career to the next level. Something that says welcome to Hollywood kid.

‘Miley has had them, Bieber has had them, everyone has had them and each day I sit by my window and I dream, what will my scandal be?’

She then sang a song which came up with potential scandals including botox, making an anti-semitic Twitter joke, trashing a hotel room, or having a love child with Drake.

The show’s cast then joined her to sing about her potential scandals as she pretended her breasts were going to pop out.

Grand finale: She wowed the audience with the monologue

The programme also mocked the violence and alleged racism at Donald Trump’s rallies in its latest lampooning of the front-running Republican presidential candidate.

The late night comedy show took on Trump in its opening sketch of the night in a breaking news report that Dr. Ben Carson had been attacked by a mob at a rally.

‘Guys what did I say? Not this one. This is one of the good ones,’ Trump, played by Darrell Hammond, told supporters as Dr. Carson, played by Jay Pharoah tended his bloody wounds next to the business mogul.

‘Don’t worry we have a very classy Trump steak on his eye. And to the media please don’t use this as an excuse to call me racist.’

Cold open: The show began with another political sketch featuring a Donald Trump rally

Ouch: They even poked fun at the recent violence at Trump rallies as Dr Ben Carson was said to have gotten roughed up by police

Pharoah’s Carson then explained the Trump had many black friends, including reality TV star Omarosa and Dennis Rodman.

‘The list goes on,’ said Trump.

‘Mike Tyson,’ added Carson.

‘The list ends,’ concluded Trump.

Larry David then appeared as Democrat contender Senator Bernie Sanders as he apologized for clogging up everyone’s Facebook feeds.

‘I mean I’m great but I’m not five posts a day great. With all due respect to my supporters, get a life,’ mugged David before the cameras cut back to him in pajamas getting ready for bed.

‘I always wear them under my suit, that’s why my suits are so baggy.’

Kate McKinnon then reprised her role as Hilary Clinton but with a twist, as she played the politician pretending to be Bernie Sanders to try and attract his supports.

‘I am whoever you want me to be and I approve this message, I am trying here guys ,’ she said dressed up in an oversized Sanders-style suit.

Ariana then played a frustrated TV reporter backstage at the Kids’ Choice Awards who was awkwardly left hanging by producers trying to fill time and repeatedly attempting to throw over to the show itself.

Getting in touch: Kate McKinnon returned to her signature role as Hillary Clinton

Relatable: The parody campaign ad poked fun at Hillary’s attempts to find common ground with the voters

Transformation: As she tried to sound like Bernie Sanders, Hillary eventually became him in the end

She was then joined at Coney Island by the rest of the female stars for a music video to ‘Not a Feminist Song.’

In ‘True Tales From the Sea’ Arianna played a pretty mermaid who rescued endangered fishermen next to an ugly blowfish mermaid.

Ariana, bizarrely wearing her jacket on just one arm, then performed ‘Dangerous Woman’ and got an introduction from Larry David who totally botched her name and began laughing at himself.

She’s back! As the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards happened on the same day, Ariana poked fun of backstage presenters during the show in her first sketch

Fish out of water: The singer also played a mermaid who rescued an endangered fishermen

During the Weekend Update, Colin Jost took more shots at Donald Trump.

’Trump is like that guy that says every single one of his ex-girlfriends has been crazy. I don’t know man, I think it might be you,’ laughed Jost.

Michael Che then joked there was no way he would be going to a Trump rally, which he branded ’Some goofy Nazi prom.’

They then poked fun at The Bachelor with the ‘Drunkest contestant’ played by Cecily Strong appearing with a glass of champagne and kissing Jost.

Oops: Larry David was to introduce Ariana but had a laugh as he botched her name

Back in black: The flub didn’t seem to bother Ariana as she performed Dangerous Woman

‘If Leslie Jones hears about this we are both dead,’ laughed Jost.

The show then used Ariana’s ability to impersonate fellow pop stars in a sketch that saw streaming service Tidal suffering technical issues forcing them to get her to sing like Britney Spears, Shakira, and Rihanna.

‘Was that okay? I truly have no idea what she is saying,’ joked Ariana.

She then went on to imitate Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, hitting a string of high-notes before doing a coffee run for her bosses.

Range: She did vocal impressions of Britney Spears, Shakira, and Rihanna in a Tidal sketch

Blonde ambition: She did an impression of Jennifer Lawrence on an episode of Family Feud

After a quick costume change Ariana played Jennifer Lawrence in a celebrity version of Family Feud.

‘They told me not to do a game show but I was like screw it I can have fun, I am a regular person,’ she said doing her best ‘Annoyingly relatable’ JLaw impression alongside Tilda Swinton, Javier Bardem, Idris Elba, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen and Kevin Smith.

The second time around Larry David managed to pronounce Ariana’s name correctly as she performed ‘Be Alright.’

Finally Ariana played a street-smart Maria in a special version of The Sound of Music who took offense at the nun’s ‘Singing shade’ about her.

There you go: Larry got her name right for the second introduction

Scintillating: Ariana’s second song was new track Be Alright
