The lone leopard did not want to choose a simple target, it aimed for a male antelope that was much larger than itself.

A female leopard named Modsida is scanning her world at a reserve in Botswana. Young impalas were the easiest target, but Modsida wanted more.

It found a male antelope, this male was twice its size. This would be a trophy worthy of the title of queen, and enough to show off to the other creatures if it succeeded.

Leopards usually live alone, except when mating and raising cubs. They are good at climbing and can jump up to 3m high. Leopards’ prey is diverse, including antelopes, primates, deer, wild boars, rabbits and many other animals. Leopards can run at a speed of 60km/h when chasing prey.
