William Gallas reveals the perfect signing for Arsenal

William Gallas believes England’s latest Euro 2024 hero Ollie Watkins would be the perfect signing for Arsenal.

So far, coach Mikel Arteta has focused on strengthening the defense and strengthening the goalkeeper position in the summer of 2024. David Raya has now signed a long-term contract, while a deal for Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori is progressing rapidly.

Arsenal have missed out on the Premier League title in each of the last two seasons, finishing behind Manchester City despite having the advantage at times in the race for the title. Arsenal’s defence is highly regarded, and fans will now expect them to improve their goalscoring ability.

Ollie Watkins was the player who scored the winning goal for England against the Netherlands

Kai Havertz’s form has improved towards the end of his first season at the Emirates Stadium in a false nine role, while Arteta is hopeful Gabriel Jesus will recover from injury and show his best.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of strikers in recent weeks but were dealt a blow when Benjamin Sesko decided to stay at RB Leipzig. William Gallas believes Ollie Watkins would be the perfect signing for Arsenal. He said:

“For Arsenal, I like Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa. He has the pace needed as a striker and with a player like Martin Odegaard behind him, he is fantastic, think of all the assists.

It’s hard to defend against players like Ollie Watkins because he’s so intelligent on the run, with Odegaard they’ll do a lot of damage. If I was at Arsenal I’d pick him.”
