DJ Unk Passes Away at 42.

Anthony Leonard Platt, better known as DJ Unk, has died at the age of 42. A key figure in Atlanta’s vibrant music scene, DJ Unk shot to fame in 2006 with his chart-topping hit ‘Walk It Out.’ He followed up with the superhit ‘2 Step.’ While the cause of his death remains unknown, tributes have poured in on social media from friends and collaborators, including DJ Montay.
DJ Montay, sharing several photos with DJ Unk, wrote on Facebook,”RIP Unk glad to say we was able to make history together.”
Fans also took to social media to honor the late artist.
“Wow! I just saw the video literally last night where he was explaining that he had been sacrificed and he wrote country grammar for Nelly. I don’t know when that vid was made but wow. Prayers and condolences go out to the family,” one fan shared.
Another expressed, “DJ Unk, thank you for providing the music that became the soundtrack to many millennials’ college experiences. We send our love and prayers of comfort to his friends and family.”
One fan reflected, “Walk it Out (remix) stays in heavy rotation on my playlist. It remains one of my most listen songs every year. I play it so much my son, niece and nephews play it on theirs now. I am saddened to hear this. May his soul rest in peace, condolences to his loved ones.”
Another fan wrote, “Aww man..I was just listening to walk it out a couple days ago. May his music live on and ‘walk it out’ of our hearts and into our memories.”
