With Love, Meghan was filmed at a luxurious farmhouse just a few miles from the Sussexes’ Montecito, California, mansion. The four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom farmhouse is owned by local philanthropists Tom and Sherrie Cipolla, who bought it for $4.7 million in 2017, according to Realtor.com. The site now estimates the property’s value at over $8 million.

An additional barn on the property serves as a secondary filming location, while the estate’s grounds—filled with lemon and avocado trees—serve as a picturesque backdrop for the show.

This isn’t the first time Harry and Meghan have opted for another property to film a Netflix project. According to Realtor.com, for their 2022 Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, the couple filmed interviews at a nearby $30 million estate.

Meghan revealed that she decided to film With Love, Meghan in a nearby rental to protect her family. She and Prince Harry are parents to two children: 5-year-old Archie Harrison and 3-year-old Lilibet Diana.

“I wanted to protect that safe haven,” she told People in an exclusive interview. “We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments — putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day.”

She continued, “Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house!”

While the series’ interior scenes were filmed in the farmhouse, a few scenes showcase the exterior of her Montecito house, including the backyard, chicken coop, and orchard.

“Archie did the [filming clapboard]! Sweet moments,” she added. “They would also come with my husband and visit me on-set, and I loved that my children were able to watch me working and see the balance of that and understand what Mama does and is working to create and share. It was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work.”

Harry and Meghan purchased their California home in 2020 after relocating from the U.K. to the U.S. in March 2020. Two months prior, in January 2020, the couple announced that they were stepping back from their duties as senior royals.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen,” they wrote in a statement on Instagram at the time.

The new Netflix series comes just weeks after Meghan revealed more details about her new brand, As Ever (formerly American Riviera Orchard). In an Instagram post, she described the brand as a reflection of her passions—food, gardening, entertaining, mindful living, and embracing everyday joy.

“I will keep sharing behind the scenes tidbits with you here as we ramp up to launch, and I can’t wait for you to get your hands on everything we’ve been creating,” she wrote.
