After reports of a suspected UFO sighting in northeastern India, two fighter jets were dispatched to the area, while operations there were blocked for about three hours.
Sources said the Indian Air Force had to scramble fighter jets after a suspected unidentified flying object ( UFO ) was reported near an airport in the country’s northeast, The Times of India reported.
According to information that emerged on November 20, a UFO was spotted at an airport in Imphal City in northeastern India . The incident then caused panic in the area, so all civil flight operations had to be suspended for about 3 hours.
However, the International Business Times later reported that fighter jets searched the area in question but found no sign of the suspected UFO .
“Immediately after receiving information about a UFO near Imphal airport, a Rafale fighter jet from a nearby air base was dispatched to join the search for the UFO,” local officials said.
The searches were called off shortly afterwards. “Aircraft equipped with advanced sensors flew low over the suspected area to search for the UFO but found nothing there,” regional officials added.
Information about the incident is still relatively limited. This event occurred not long after a Ryanair pilot said he saw a UFO approaching him as the plane took off.
It is expected that after conducting some more related investigations, Indian authorities will update the situation further.
