Today should be the day that Arsenal announce Mikel Merino as their new signing after putting him through a medical on the weekend. Next up for the Gunners could be a move for a new forward, or a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale if he finds a new club.

Liverpool are about to announce to signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili after a breakthrough in talks over his £30m move from Valencia led to him undergoing a medical yesterday, although he’ll head back to the Mestalla on loan. Arsenal and Chelsea boost in Victor Osimhen race

Victor Osimhen appears set to reject a move to Saudi Arabia in a huge transfer boost o Chelsea and Arsenal.

Reports out of Italy on Monday morning claimed Napoli were mulling over a £60million offer from Al Ahli as they look to cash in on the Nigerian striker, with new coach Antonio Conte wanting Romelu Lukaku as his replacement.

It was previously reported that Osimhen has no interest in a move to the Middle East and the 25-year-old’s agent, Roberto Calenda, posted a statement on X indicating that they will reject this new approach while criticising Napoli’s handling of the situation.

It read: “Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. He made history and when there were major offers (also this year) we always accepted the club’s decisions.

“As I said, he is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets.

“Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eighth at the Ballon d’Or, he still has so much to do in Europe. There needs to be respect and balance.”

Charlie Patino’s Arsenal exit confirmed

Arsenal academy graduate Charlie Patino has signed for Spanish second division outfit Deportivo.

Patino progressed through the Gunners’ youth-team after he joined the club in 2015 at the age of 11, but would only go on to play two times for the Premier League side.

After productive loan spells at Blackpool and Swansea, Patino, 20, has joined Deportivo on a permanent deal and signed a four-year contract with the Segunda Division club.

Watford have brought in midfielder Pierre Dwomoh from Royal Antwerp.

Belgium youth international Dwomoh has spent the past few campaigns on loan at Braga, Oostende and Molenbeek, but will now ply his trade at Vicarage Road.
