Marvel’s artist Thomas du Crest shares his vision of what the MCU’s current Spider-Man would look like in the classic symbiote’s black suit from the comics.
Spider-Man: No Way Home, the latest film from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures about the arachnid superhero, has become the most successful film in recent post-Pandemic times thanks to a box office that has already surpassed $1 billion worldwide. And beyond its success among critics and audiences, the film leaves several doors open regarding Spidey’s future in cinema, one of them, which you have to do directly with one of the post-credits scenes.
Warning: spoilers about the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home from the next paragraph.
Will we see Tom Holland in the black Venom suit?
One of the scenes at the end shows us the Eddie Brock/Venom from Sony’s Spiderverse returning to his universe after Doctor Strange’s spell, not without leaving a small sample of the symbiote’s suit in the MCU. This small detail introduces the symbiotes to the MCU, giving rise to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man joining the symbiote, in clear reference to the classic black suit from the comics. As such, Marvel artist Thomas du Crest has shared his vision of what the actor would look like in said suit; and the result couldn’t be more promising.
This has been shared by the artist through his personal Twitter account, warning that this is a conceptual work for Spider-Man: No Way Home that eventually was not used, but that can suggest what is to come in upcoming Spider-Man movies. And there is no doubt that the look Spider-Man wears in these images is as spectacular as it is menacing, completely respecting the look of the comics with the white spider on his chest or the web-shooters on the back of his hand.
Thomas du Crest has worked on several Marvel Studios films as an artist, including Spider-Man: Far From Home, Avengers Endgame or Ant-Man and the Wasp, as well as Sony Pictures’ Venom: There will be Carnage.
