The reason C.Ronaldo often paints his toenails black

This habit of the Portuguese superstar is said to help him protect his toenails and limit nail fungus when wearing shoes regularly.

C. Ronaldo shows off painted toenails.

Sharing moments of swimming with his wife and children in a villa in Saudi Arabia, C. Ronaldo revealed black painted toenails. However, according to Brightside , this is not the first time the Portuguese superstar has painted his nails. Since 2010, the striker born in 1985 has occasionally been spotted with black toenails, which is said to help strengthen toenails, limit breakage, cracking, and popping during intense physical activity.

In addition, applying a layer of nail polish is also said to help strikers prevent nail fungus and bacteria when their job requires them to wear closed-toe shoes.

In the photo with boxer Francis Ngannou, the Portuguese striker also painted his toenails black.

Not only CR7, many professional athletes and martial artists also paint their nails as a way to protect their fingernails or toenails from impacts during training.

Today, many people are still surprised to see men paint their fingernails and toenails, however, according to Brightside , this practice has been around for a long time. Since the Babylonian civilization, men have dyed their nails with minerals before entering battles to indicate their rank and intimidate their enemies. Ancient Egyptian men also painted their nails to distinguish their social status, the darker the color, the higher their status.
