The first boots Lionel Messi wore as a professional were Nike’s Tiempo when he played for Argentina at the U20 World Cup.
Playing for Barca, Messi also wears Nike shoes. They can be Mercurial Vapor or T-90.
2009 was a year of great success for Catalonia with the great treble. This was also a year of sublimation for Messi with countless goals and personal titles. This year Messi wore F50i shoes, an upgraded product compared to the old version.
For the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Adidas also designed a pair of F50 Adizero boots, but the colors were changed to match the colors on the official ball. Messi wore these boots and together with his teammates won the runner-up position in the World Cup.
In 2015, Adidas created a new shoe line. This time, the company named the shoe after Messi and thus the Messi 15 shoe was officially born.
In 2016 Adidas launched the Messi 16 product line with Messi’s own logo on the side of the shoe.
