The mystery surrounding the mother of Cristiano Ronaldo’s three eldest children has been a topic of speculation for years. All three of Ronaldo’s eldest children were born in the United States, and the identity of their mother remains a closely guarded secret.
On October 28th, Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez announced on Instagram that they are expecting twins. The couple also has a daughter named Alana Martina, who will soon celebrate her fourth birthday on November 12th. In addition to Alana Martina and the twins on the way, the 36-year-old forward has three other children: Cristiano Jr, Eva, and Mateo. All three were born in San Diego, California, USA, and the identity of their mother(s) remains undisclosed.
Cristiano Jr, affectionately known as Cristianinho, was born on June 17th, 2010. At the time, Ronaldo was dating supermodel Irina Shayk, but she is not the mother of Cristiano Jr. Ronaldo stated that the mother of his son preferred to remain anonymous, and he is the legal guardian of Cristiano Jr. In December 2010, The Sun reported that the mother of Cristiano Jr was a 20-year-old student, and the child was the result of a one-night stand. The newspaper also claimed that the young woman had initially agreed to relinquish her parental rights for £10 million but later changed her mind and demanded to see her son. Some rumors suggest that Ronaldo used a surrogate mother, while others speculate that the mother of “little Ronaldo” is an African-American woman, but Ronaldo’s family has refused to comment.
In late 2011, The Sun garnered attention by reporting that Cristiano Jr’s mother had passed away, based on disclosures from Katia Aveiro, Ronaldo’s sister. In an interview, Katia stated, “No woman calls the boy. The boy’s mother has already died. My nephew has no mother.” However, the 36-year-old superstar did not provide further details about how or where the woman presumed to be Cristiano Jr’s mother passed away. When Cristiano Jr turned four, another of Ronaldo’s sisters, Elma, mentioned, “Once, we told the boy that his mother was in heaven. When his mother and my brother heard that, they asked me not to say that anymore. Now we say that the boy’s mother is working abroad. The boy became silent and forgot everything, not asking anything anymore.” Ronaldo’s mother also hinted in her autobiography, “Cristianinho will never know who his mother is.”
However, during a conversation with host Jonathan Ross in 2015, Ronaldo stated that he would tell his son the truth about his mother when the time is right. “My son doesn’t know who his mother is, but I don’t see any problem. In the summer of 2017, Ronaldo once again caused a stir by announcing the birth of twins Eva and Mateo. The twins share the same birth month, June, as their older brother Cristiano Jr. Eva was born at 9:07 am, a few minutes before her brother Mateo. At the time, the Portuguese forward was in a relationship with his current girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, who was also pregnant with their daughter Alana Martina, due in three months. In Ronaldo’s native Portugal, surrogacy is not permitted under any circumstances except for the rarest cases. Single men are not allowed to engage in surrogacy as an option for having children.
