Her raven tresses were styled straight and she accessorized them with delicate gold jewelry.

Saweetie was seen almost stepping out of her blue corset minidress when she arrived at the after-party.

Taylor and Selena shared several cute friendship moments at the star-studded event, including a warm hug.

The two also cheered each other on in the crowd as they won awards: Gomez for Best Afrobeats Video for her collaboration on ‘Calm Down’ with Rema, and Swift’s four wins for Anti-Hero.

Taylor won in nine of the 11 categories in which she was nominated, including Artist of the Year, at the annual event, which was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The singer-songwriter won Album of the Year for Midnights and Show of the Summer, as well as taking home six awards for the video and song for Anti-Hero.

They included Video of the Year; Best Photography; Better visual effects; Best Direction, Best Pop; and Song of the Year.

Swift told the crowd while accepting the Best Pop award for Antihero: “I love making pop music, I love making pop music videos, and I love making country, too.”

“I love exploring different genres and the only reason I’m allowed to do it is because you, the fans, gave me the opportunity to do this.”

And she added: “A great adventure and it’s a lot of challenging myself to make music that is different from what I did the last time and I love you for that.” But I really love making pop music, so thank you very, very, very much.”

Swift won her second Song of the Year award for Anti-Hero.

“I want to say that I am very, very lucky to be able to write songs with one of my best friends in the world, his name is Jack Antonoff,” he said in his second speech. “I’m very lucky to have been making music with him since we worked on an album called 1989. We will continue working together until 2089!”

The superstar continued: ‘Anyway, I’m very, very happy because this validates my favorite part of what I get to do.

‘I started writing songs when I was 12 and it always starts with a very isolated emotion, a very specific type of insecurity or self-loathing that I feel like I’m the only one feeling at that moment.

“But then when I go on tour and I have stadiums singing the words to me.”

He added: “It brings me to this very relaxing feeling that maybe we all have the same problems, so thank you very much to the fans, I love you very much, this means a lot to me.” Thank you!’

Swift took home her third award of the night for Best Director for directing the video for her hit song Anti-Hero.

In her third speech of the evening, she thanked her “brilliant collaborators” and stated that being a director “is absolutely a team sport.”

Swift thanked her editors, cinematographer and cinematographer, as well as the video’s actors, adding, “You absolutely played the roles perfectly.”

Hugs: Taylor and Selena shared several cute friendship moments at the star-studded event, including a warm hug.

Swift won her fourth award at the broadcast for Video of the Year for Anti-Hero.

“This is incredible. I just want to say that the fact that it’s a fan-voted award means a lot to me,” she said. ‘Based on the memories we have recently created, the most joyful and exhilarating experience and we are not even halfway done.

“Last year really felt like it was the adventure of a lifetime.”

The big evening resulted in Swift moving up to second all-time MTV VMA winners with 25 total, trailing only Beyoncé’s 28, two of which she earned as a member of Destiny’s Child.

Pop royalty Madonna (20 VMA Awards) and Lady Gaga (19 VMA Awards) complete the quartet of musical queens.
