More than two years after “Stranger Things” Season 4 came to Netflix, the show’s official X account has finally revealed a teaser for Season 5.
The X post caption reads, “Who’s *really* looking for Eleven?” and it includes a “Missing Teen” poster for Jane Hopper — the name Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) was given in Season 2 when Jim Hopper (David Harbour) took her in.
If you’re wondering if anything happens when you call the number, one X user commented that nothing happens and that it was a “missed opportunity.”
The X post has left “Stranger Things” fans shaken and wanting more.
Are fans ready for Season 5?
It’s apparent that no one saw the Season 5 teaser coming, as many commenters responded to the X post expressing their shock.
Show co-creator Ross Duffer even commented saying, “Are you really prepared?”
One commenter put the picture of Eleven’s missing poster and Will Byers’ (Noah Schnapp) missing poster from Season 1 together and wrote “twinning.”
That post could hint at what‘s to come in the first episode of the new season. If so, it wouldn’t be the first connection between Season 5 and the first season.
When the show released the titles for each episode in Season 5 on X, the Deseret News reported that two of the episode titles in Season 5 mirror two titles in Season 1.
But back to the missing poster, ScreenRant posed the thought that Eleven probably isn’t missing at all but is probably hiding from the government instead.
There are still so many questions that need answered and it is now just a matter of time until “Stranger Things” fans know how the creators wrap everything up.
This will be the biggest season yet
People reported that co-creator Matt Duffer said that this final season will be “big and epic.”
He continued, “There’s no time for a ramp-up. It’s going to be intense from beginning to end.”
There will be an 18-month jump from Season 4 to Season 5 — which is “the longest time jump between seasons,” as the Deseret News previously reported.
Those details are only making fans want more. One X user encouraged fans to start chanting for a trailer in hopes that it might come sooner in a comment on this most recent teaser.
The release date for Season 5 also hasn’t been announced. One X user predicted that June 13 — which happens to be a Friday — is when it will come out.
Where did Season 4 leave off?
After a long break between seasons, fans will likely benefit from a refresher on Season 4. Here are the basics, according to Digital Spy.
The whole gang was separated for most of the season as they were trying to defeat Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and stop him from releasing the Upside Down into the real world.
When Max (Sadie Sink) is taken over by Vecna and is deemed his fourth victim, El piggybacks into her mind in order to defeat him. But he still had time to kill Max and rip open a huge portal to the Upside Down in the middle of Hawkins.
But El was able to save something of her friend, since Max is seen in a coma and in the hospital.
The gang is finally reunited in the last episode, but there isn’t much time for them to rest as Will expresses that he can “still feel Vecna’s presence,” per Digital Spy.
