Current VP and the Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris came on CBS’ 60 Minutes with Bill Whittaker, where she was grilled on her economic policies, plans for immigration, and more. Harris was also reportedly joined by her running mate Tim Walz, who was also asked about his past comments in the media.
The interview has widely been considered to be the most grilling one Harris has taken yet and will reportedly be part of a huge media push from her campaign in the coming weeks. As always, Donald Trump supporters, including Tesla owner Elon Musk criticized Harris’ answers, with Musk specifically pointing out her immigration policy.

With only a few weeks left for elections, the Democratic and Republic nominees have been campaigning hard. While Republican candidate Donald Trump has appeared on a few podcasts, rallies, and interviews, the Democratic Party’s Kamala Harris recently sat down with Bill Whittaker on CBS’ 60 Minutes.
The interview was Harris’ most prominent media appearance and talk since her nomination and Whittaker seemed to have grilled her with hard-hitting questions on economic policy, handling of immigration, and USA’s relationship with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Harris reportedly said that the American and Israeli people had an important alliance (via CBS).

Trump supporters like Elon Musk and many others criticized Harris’ answers, especially on the Biden-Harris administration’s work on reducing excessive immigration inflow. Many also called the interview a blemish on her campaign.

🚨Wow. 60 Minutes mildly pressed Kamala Harris on why she opened the southern border and then waited 3.5 years to reverse course, and she completely melted down in response. Kamala is not ready for primetime:

It’s no coincidence that she’s suddenly doing interviews.
The internal polling has to be so bad.

With November 5 only a few weeks away and both parties set to amp up their media efforts, more attacks and scandals seem to be on the horizon.
Donald Trump has had an interesting campaign this year. After two alleged assassination attempts and onboarding supporters like Elon Musk, he seems to be on par with his Democratic counterpart. However, while his supporters bashed VP Kamala Harris for her appearance on 60 Minutes, the former President reportedly backed out of it.
THR reported that Trump backed out of the interview at the last minute after accepting the offer once. According to The Guardian, the Trump campaign reportedly gave CBS multiple explanations for his exit, including that he did not want to be fact-checked. Harris said in the interview,
If he is not going to give your viewers the ability to have a meaningful, thoughtful conversation, question and answer with you, then watch his rallies. You’re going to hear conversations that are about himself and all of his personal grievances. And what you will not hear is anything about you, the listener.
The show instead allegedly aired another 60 Minutes interview of Republican recorder Stephen Richer.
