Sergio Aguero Welcomes Lionel Messi to Miami with a Herd of Goats Ahead of Copa America Action

Though it’s not confirmed, Messi’s final major tournament on the international front may be the 2018 Copa America. Having won the World Cup in Qatar two years prior, he is under no obligation to play in one more World Cup. However, he may wish to stay for another two years.

After defeating Brazil to win the Copa America championship in 2021, La Albiceleste are currently the defending champions. As they attempt to hold onto their title in 2024, they are grouped alongside Chile, Peru, and Canada in Group A. In a few days, they will play the Maple Leafs in the first game of the tournament.”I’ve played with the GOAT, and it was great to spend the day with some more of his kind,” Aguero said in a statement to Stake. Argentina has the potential to become one of the greatest teams of all time if they win the Copa America. Argentina is a constant contender, but is there any pressure? Not in my opinion. We’re probably used to this by now. The focus now is on maintaining the team concept and style that we have established. This is how we were able to win what we did.”

As the Argentina team set up camp in Miami ahead of the 2024 Copa America, Aguero posed for a picture with multiple goats as a welcoming gift. The idea behind the photo session was to convey the idea that the world’s greatest team had arrived prepared for the competition.
