Earlier this week, Gomez told her followers that she finally accepted that her body will “never look” the same as it did when she was in her early 20s.
“I’m not perfect, but I’m proud to be who I am… sometimes I forget that it’s okay to be me,” the Only Murders in the Building actress wrote on her Instagram Story.
Selena has shared body positivity messages several times in the past.
Last February, she went after body shamers and revealed that her lupus medication is responsible for her weight gain.
At the time, Gomez said she will “never be a model” as she went after online trolls who had commented about her body.
The Spring Breakers star explained that she will “retain a lot of water weight” due to various medications she takes and also encouraged fans to practice self-love even in moments of embarrassment.
The Lose You to Love Me singer, who previously opened up about her autoimmune disease diagnosis and mental health journey, also said: “When I don’t do it, I tend to lose weight.”

In response to the haters, she told them to “go away, because I honestly don’t believe in shaming people for [their] body or anything like that.”
“So, yeah, I’m not a model,” she said, adding, “I never will be.”
And he added: “And I think they are incredible, yes, but I am definitely not that.”
The hitmaker then continued to encourage her fans to practice self-love and acceptance.
“I just wanted to say and encourage anyone who feels any kind of shame about exactly what’s going on and no one knows the real story,” he said.
“I just want people to know that you are beautiful and wonderful.”
The Wizards of Waverly Place student also highlighted the importance of her health above appearances.
“And yes, we have days where maybe we feel like shit, but I would rather be healthy and take care of myself,” she said.
