Ronaldo became the first player to score in 23 consecutive professional seasons.
Ronaldo keeps scoring.
Ronaldo keeps scoring.
On the night of August 14, Ronaldo started the 2024/25 season with a goal against Al Taawon in the Saudi Arabian Super Cup semi-final, thereby helping Al Nassr win a ticket to the final for the first time in 4 years.
Since making his professional debut for Sporting in 2002, Ronaldo has played 23 different seasons, scoring at least one goal in each season.
With the goal, Ronaldo reached 896 goals in his career at all levels. He has scored an average of 38.9 goals per season and has maintained this performance for more than two decades.
At 39, Ronaldo’s strength and speed are no longer what they used to be. However, the Portuguese veteran still shows impressive ability to choose position, jump high and finish. In the 2023/24 season, CR7 scored 50 goals. He is one of the few names guaranteed a starting position in the Al Nassr squad this season.
Back in the Saudi Arabian Super Cup semi-final, Al Nassr won 2-0 but suffered a heavy loss, as midfielder Marcelo Brozovic was suspended for the final due to a red card. After the match ended, Ronaldo and coach Luis Castro expressed their dissatisfaction with the refereeing team.
The absence of their number one holding midfielder will make things difficult for Al Nassr in the final against Al Hilal. The Super Cup match will take place on August 17.
