As starts go, this is as good as it gets.
Liverpool have now won 11 of their 12 games under Arne Slot.
It’s the most they’ve ever won at this stage of a season in all competitions.
That this has been achieved in Slot’s very first 12 matches in charge, while replacing Jürgen Klopp no less, is remarkable.
One point I would like to stress is that Slot could not have done this without the squad Klopp has handed over for him. Klopp always said he wouldn’t depart Liverpool unless he was leaving the club in as healthy a position as possible.
Well he’s been true to his word, and Slot has a wonderful group of footballers at his disposal, let’s be clear about that.
But the Dutchman still has to get this squad to play the right tune, and he’s so far proving a fabulous conductor of the orchestra.
