La Liga outfit Espanyol are preparing themselves for an imminent offer on the transfer front, by way of Premier League giants Arsenal.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Joan García as the subject of the impending proposal.
Goalkeeper García has for his part been tipped for a move to England with Arsenal for several months now.
This comes with the Spaniard understood to be held in altogether high regard by fellow countryman Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff.
Until today, the pathway towards a move had remained blocked, owing to Aaron Ramsdale’s ongoing status as an Arsenal player.
On Wednesday, however, the situation took a major turn.
As confirmed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the board at The Emirates have reached an agreement with their counterparts at Southampton, over Ramsdale’s sale.
With mere days remaining in the summer transfer window, the door has in turn been opened for Arsenal to launch an all-out assault on the signature of the aforementioned García.
As per a report from Relevo:
‘Ramsdale’s sale will lead Arsenal to launch an offensive to sign Joan García.’
Espanyol, for their part, have made clear to the club’s counterparts in north London that the sale of their no.1 will be sanctioned under only one condition.
The condition in question? The activation of García’s release clause, set at €30 million.
