The Detroit Pistons want to keep the good times rolling, and that means avoid stringing together consecutive losses for as long as possible. After a disappointing showing against the Indiana Pacers, Detroit will look to right the ship against a surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly) mediocre Phoenix Suns team. The Suns are solidly .500 and while they are looking for a path toward contention armed with a ginormous payroll and few assets to move, I’m not sure how they ever become more than they are. Detroit, meanwhile, seems to be on either a minor or significant ascension. A team that bested last year’s record before the new year is now looking like not just a good bad team, but a potentially good good team. One that can beat anyone on any given night.
