Owen: “Liverpool will be empty-handed if they sell these two players”

Commenting on AceOdds, former player Michael Owen said that coach Arne Slot should keep the duo Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk if he wants to succeed at Liverpool.

Liverpool is preparing to enter a new era with new captain Slot after the strategist from the Netherlands was chosen as Jurgen Klopp’s successor.

According to the British press, it is likely that in the near future, the 45-year-old military leader will carry out a large-scale purge of the squad to meet his own tactical requirements.

The Anfield home team is expected to have many changes in all three lines, including the positions of veteran heroes like Van Dijk or Salah because these two stars have recently been rumored to want to “follow in their footsteps”. Mr. Klopp left Anfield in search of a new challenge, but according to a recent opinion from English football legend Owen, Slot needs to retain this duo if they do not want to fail at The Kop.

“In his position, Salah has always shown a different class. If Liverpool let both Van Dijk and Salah leave this summer, they will not be able to win any competitions next season . Both are extremely important to the team unless Slot can bring in new players of the same class. I would like to see Van Dijk and Salah continue to play for Liverpool next season,” Owen told AceOdds.

Owen advises Slot not to sell Van Dijk (left) and Salah (right).

While offers for Van Dijk have not been confirmed, for Salah, the Egyptian player has been rolled out the red carpet by teams from Saudi Arabia with a contract and unbelievable salary.

Even in last summer’s transfer window, Salah was very close to Al-Ittihad Club when the team sent a bid worth 150 million pounds to Liverpool for the 32-year-old striker, but Klopp asked the board of directors to flatly refuse. deny.
