NYPD cops are looking to question Wu-Tang Clan rapper and founding member Method Man after a 28-year-old man filed a complaint accusing him of an assault at a Staten Island gym, police sources said Thursday.

According to the complaint, the 53-year-old Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Clifford Smith, got into an argument with the accuser at the Crunch Fitness location, on West Service Rd. near Wild Ave., in the Travis-Chelsea neighborhood on the western shore of Staten Island around 4 p.m. Monday, police sources said.

The alleged victim was in a relationship with the rapper’s daughter more than a decade ago, the sources added. No charges have been filed.

An NYPD spokesperson had no information.

The rapper’s agent did not immediately return a request for comment.

In 2018, the rapper, record producer and actor was arrested after he failed to pay New York State $32,799 in income taxes between 2004 and 2007.
