Netflix has released promotional images for the film in EW magazine, giving viewers their first look at The Devil All the Time. The images show the main characters in what appear to be some pretty distressing situations, including a striking photo of Tom Holland in the shoes of protagonist Arvin Russell. Viewers also see Robert Pattinson’s character sitting in a church and Bill Skarsgård’s character praying in the woods, suggesting the film may deal with religious themes.

The Devil All the Time is set near the start of the Vietnam War and will revolve around the intersecting stories of different people living in rural Ohio and West Virginia. The novel’s story focuses primarily on Arvin Russell, who is orphaned after his mother dies of cancer and his father commits suicide as part of a religious sacrifice.
Talking about this film, Tom Holland shared: ” I’m very excited to work with Antonio because his previous films that I’ve seen are all very authentic. This is a challenge when I speak in a different accent, playing a country kid in a classic film with a new director.”
It’s hard to say at this point how closely Netflix’s adaptation will adhere to the source material, but these promotional images promise a serious and emotional film for viewers. Given the star-studded cast and bright visuals, audiences can expect some great performances.
The Devil All the Time is scheduled to release September 16 on Netflix.
