Tish Cyrus got married to her new love, “Prison Break” star Dominic Purcell, on Aug. 19 in Malibu, and she appeared to be surrounded by love on her big day. Three of her five children — Miley, Brandi, and Trace Cyrus — were in attendance, with Miley appearing to serve as her maid of honor. Two of Tish’s kids — Noah and Braison Cyrus — were seemingly not in attendance, however, and their social media posts over the weekend have fans thinking there may be some unrest in the family.
Prior to her marriage to Purcell, Tish was married to Billy Ray Cyrus for 28 years before they divorced in April 2022. Miley, Braison, and Noah were born out of their marriage, but Billy Ray also adopted Tish’s children from her first marriage to Baxter Neal Helson, Brandi and Trace.
According to Noah’s social media posts over the weekend (via screenshots on BuzzFeed News), it appears she and Braison spent the weekend together having a “sleepover.” “Good morning from our sleepover,” Noah captioned one photo of her lounging in bed with Braison and another friend, Alec Holden. In another video post, the pair marvel at the construction going down during their trip to a local Walmart. In another photo, Noah is wearing a Billy Ray Cyrus T-shirt.
Fans believe the posts indicate Noah and Braison made the decision to skip Tish’s wedding. It’s unclear why they’d decide this, but fans suspect that — despite their dad Billy’s denials — there could be unrest in the Cyrus family surrounding Billy and Tish’s divorce. Shortly before Tish and Purcell’s romance became known to the public, Billy, 61, got engaged to his current fiancée, Firerose (who’s 34 years old, according to People), in November 2022.
Billy previously told People that there were no hard feelings stemming from his and Tish’s divorce, saying, “Everyone knew that that relationship was over a long time ago. Everybody’s turning the page. It’s been a lot, but everyone knew that it was time for a change.” But fans couldn’t help noticing that Billy no longer follows Miley or Tish on Instagram and vice versa, which could indicate there were indeed sides chosen in the split. Reps for Noah and Tish did not respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment on her absence from Tish’s wedding.
