MARION COUNTY, IOWA — Authorities are releasing the name of a duck hunter who died on Saturday on Lake Red Rock.
Authorities say 37-year-old Matthew Bettes of Des Moines was duck hunting when his boat began to take on water. A friend reported Bettes missing but authorities weren’t sure on which body of water that Bettes had been hunting.
Marion County authorities located Bettes’ vehicle at a boat ramp at Lake Red Rock later on Saturday. His body was recovered on Sunday morning from the lake.
