Once expected to be the new generation “Queen of Rap”, Cardi B is gradually fading away with a series of unsuccessful products. Is the next album her last chance to save her career?
Cardi B rose to fame with the hit Bodak Yellow – a song that took the European and American music scene by storm in 2017. Bodak Yellow took her from an unknown artist to one of the most talked about names in the Rap music scene. Cardi B was even compared to big names like Nicki Minaj, hailed as the next “Queen of Rap”.
Riding on the momentum, Cardi B continued to assert her position with the album Invasion of Privacy (2018). The album brought her her first Grammys in the category of Best Rap Album . In 2020, Cardi B once again caused a storm with the super hit WAP in collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. This song created a wave of controversy due to its somewhat vulgar lyrics, but no one can deny its strong coverage.
Despite being a huge hit with the super hit WAP in 2020, Cardi B unfortunately could not take advantage of this to release a new album. Instead, her fans only received individual products without any breakthrough. Cardi B’s career began to show signs of slowing down. Her later music products were no longer as popular as before.
