Miley Cyrus Was Unaware About the Drama Going on in Her Family

Celebrity families are no different, and Miley Cyrus‘ family is not an exception. The Midnight Sky singer has recently found out about a dramatic situation involving her mother, sister, and new father.

Last year, the singer’s mother Tish Cyrus married Australian actor Dominic Purcell. While this did not seem to be a problem at the time, a recent revelation from Noah Cyrus that she was allegedly dating Purcell before his marriage with her mother has landed the family in the cross-hairs.
However, according to a source, the Charlie’s Angels actress had no inkling of this. The source told PEOPLE:
“Miley had no idea about the drama with Dominic. No idea at all. She confronted her mom about it. She thinks it’s a strange situation, but she loves her mom and wants her to be happy.”
The revelation is certainly shocking. The singer obviously loves her family so concluding this situation might be a little hard for her since it’s her mother on one hand and her sister on the other.
What Happened Between Noah Cyrus and Her Mother?
In April 2022, Tish Cyrus separated from Billy Ray Cyrus after a marriage that lasted almost three decades. They share five children and have remarried since the divorce. A family representative shared a joint statement with PEOPLE on their behalf regarding their decision to separate.
“It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts. We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths.”
More than a year later, Tish Cyrus tied the knot with Dominic Purcell, and her daughter Noah Cyrus “was offended” by this because she had previously hooked up with Purcell. A source told PEOPLE:
“Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends with benefits way, off and on. They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up. Tish knew he had been seeing Noah.”
Although Tish Cyrus started dating the Prison Break star after the singer separated, they never talked about it, which led to differences between the mother and daughter.
