Between filming music videos and posing for magazine covers, Miley Cyrus is well-versed in the art of looking camera-ready 24/7. While she has a talented team of makeup artists and hairstylists to help her execute some of her best looks, Cyrus also carries a toolkit of go-to beauty products in her Versace handbag. During an “In the Bag” interview with British Vogue on May 26, she shared five of her favorite beauty products, including a Gucci Nourishing Lip Balm that she claims is hydrating enough to put “anywhere.”
“My beauty routine is very fluid — it goes along with my life.”
Cyrus’s crocodile print handbag, while tiny, held tons of essentials. The first was a Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Concealer. Cyrus said McGrath herself gifted her a lifetime supply of the product after she complimented the makeup artist’s skin. To pair with her Gucci lip balm, Cyrus also carries Gucci Voile Lipstick with her at all times. The packaging was fittingly printed with flowers, and while she didn’t specify the shade, the lipstick is available in Agatha Orange, Amy Blush, Goldie Red, No More Orchids, and 11 additional tints.
“My beauty routine is very fluid — it goes along with my life,” Cyrus said as she unpacked the objects from her bag. “On certain days I have more time and capacity to have a more extensive kind of ritual with my beauty. A lot of days I’m moving so fast I just want to get outside and experience my life, so I don’t like to be too fussy.”
Another essential is Cyrus’s handbag is her Biba de Sousa Los Angeles Absolute Hydration Serum, which her facialist of 10 years recommended to help give her skin a subtle glow. “This is my favorite [serum],” Cyrus said. “As I’ve gotten older and my skin has cleared up, it’s something that just keeps me looking hydrated and gorg.”
While digging through her bag, Cyrus also revealed the secret to her year-round tan: a Dolce Glow gradual self-tanning lotion, which she applies with the brand’s kabuki brush. “We’ve been experiencing the craziest weather in LA. We’ve had snow in Malibu,” she pointed out. “That doesn’t mean that I can’t be bronzed. It may look like I’m doing nothing. Like, if I’m just sleeping on an airplane, it may look like I’m sleeping on an airplane, but really, b*tch, I’m getting tanner. I am just getting more and more bronzed by the second right now.”
Other products in Cyrus’s bag include her cell phone in a bedazzled case and a custom Louis Vuitton wallet. “In ‘Princess Diaries,’ they say a queen never jingles, so I have no coins, just lots of plastic. Welcome to Hollywood,” Cyrus joked.
For the interview, Cyrus’s makeup artist, James Kaliardos, made her face sparkle with a shimmery white eyeshadow and a blush pink lip. Her hairstylist, Bob Recine, and her manicurist, Jin Soon Choi, completed Cyrus’s look with loose waves and a set of “rich-girl” nails, respectively.
