Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has asked all his players to attend training, including Messi.
Argentina meets Ecuador in the Copa America quarter-finals at 8am tomorrow (Vietnam time) in Houston.
With the defending champions already through to the last eight, Messi, who set a record for appearances at the Copa America, sat out Argentina’s final Group A match against Peru.

However, ahead of the knockout tie against Ecuador in Houston, Scaloni is concerned the 37-year-old could miss out again.
“We will wait a few hours and make a decision. We will decide based on the feedback we get today. We will try to play him and if he doesn’t play, we will try to find the best thing for the team,” he said.
Although Messi’s ability to play is uncertain, his appearance on the training ground is a big boost for Argentina.
