Messi welcomes double joy: Argentina wins, Inter Miami continues spectacular unbeaten streak in MLS

On the morning of June 30, at the same time Messi was on the bench in Argentina’s 2-0 win over Peru at Copa America, Inter Miami took to the field in the MLS and won against Nashville SC 2-1, leaving all opponents far behind.

This is Inter Miami ‘s third consecutive win in MLS while superstars Messi and Suarez, along with midfielder Matias Rojas, are absent from the Copa America with their national teams. This spectacular winning streak helps the team, chaired and co-owned by former football star David Beckham, dominate the top spot in MLS (USA) with 44 points after 21 matches.

Ian Fray, who has just returned from a serious injury, and veteran defender Jordi Alba scored for Inter Miami in the 40th and 44th minutes in a 2-1 win over Nashville SC. Nashville SC’s equalizer was scored by Hany Mukhtar from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute.

Before that, Ian Fray also scored to help Inter Miami beat Columbus Crew with a score of 2-1. This was also the score that Inter Miami started the series of matches without Messi and Suarez when they met Philadelphia Union on June 16 (also won 2-1).

Inter Miami’s impressive achievement is considered a double joy for Messi, helping this famous player completely focus on the Argentina team at Copa America.

Argentina have qualified for the quarter-finals, and it is likely that Suarez and Uruguay will also advance. However, midfielder Matias Rojas will soon return to Inter Miami as Paraguay have been eliminated after two defeats, with only the final Group D match remaining against Costa Rica on July 3.

With the current high form of the Argentina and Uruguay national teams, Messi and Suarez could be absent from Inter Miami until the end of Copa America, when there is a high possibility that the two teams will advance to the final on July 15. Therefore, these two famous players only promise to return to play for their clubs in the Leagues Cup from the end of July.

Meanwhile, after Argentina’s victory over Peru, striker Lautaro Martinez who scored both goals dedicated these goals to Messi. “Messi is fine. We hope he can participate in the next match (quarterfinals). I dedicate these goals to him, because I know how much Messi means to us,” Lautaro Martinez expressed.

Striker Di Maria also shared: “Messi is fine, he is recovering very well. We hope he will be ready for the next match. Today’s victory is dedicated to him”. And goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez emphasized: “It is best for Messi to rest and be ready for the quarter-finals”.
