This is Messi’s second Copa America title in his career after the first three years ago, and also his fourth international title in the Argentina national team after the 2022 Finalissima and 2022 World Cup.
For his part, the 37-year-old has yet to decide on his international future and it remains to be seen whether he will be available for the upcoming Finalissima against Spain, and then for a sixth consecutive appearance at the 2026 World Cup in North America.
Back to the present, the above injury causes Messi to miss at least two upcoming matches of Inter Miami , and this was confirmed by coach Gerardo Martino himself in the latest press conference.
In MLS this season, Messi has shown his importance by contributing 12 goals and 9 assists in 12 appearances, thereby helping Inter Miami firmly stay at the top of the table. However, during the Copa America, The Herons were defeated weakly by Cincinnati, a direct rival in the championship race, and lost the top spot to their opponents.

The absence of Lionel Messi will certainly be a heavy loss for Inter Miami in the race for the championship, especially when the team is under great pressure from the opponents chasing behind.
