Messi meets Suarez’s son, what happens next attracts 42 million views

A viral moment between superstar Lionel Messi and the son of his close friend Luis Suarez.

The remarkable clip was recorded during an Inter Miami match not long ago. At that time, Messi was unable to play due to injury in the Copa America final and could only watch Inter Miami from the stands.

When he went out to the seating area, Messi met Benjamin – the son of his teammate Luis Suarez. The 11-year-old boy himself also knew Messi because he had met and played with his eldest son Thiago many times at the Inter Miami U13 team. However, when he saw Messi, Benjamin did not react, just walked past. Witnessing this, Suarez’s wife Sofia immediately reminded her son to greet “Uncle Messi”. Benjamin understood, stepped out to shake hands with the 2022 World Cup champion.

The short clip only lasts 15 seconds but has gone viral on social media, attracting more than 42.5 million views so far. Many people have praised Sofia’s way of raising her children.

“That’s what a mother should teach her child – respect for elders,” one person wrote.

“She deserves an award for her proper parenting,” another account said.

Thiago and Benjamin are teammates at Inter Miami U13

Messi and Suarez have been close friends since their time playing for Barca. Besides being teammates on the field, their families often meet and travel together. Inter Miami’s ownership of Messi is also one of the reasons Suarez agreed to play for this team. Messi’s wife Antonella and Suarez’s wife Sofia are also very close.
