Lionel Messi could be bringing his stunning fleet of cars and pet dog Hulk to England if Manchester City can secure a shock free transfer deal for the Argentinian superstar.
City are reportedly weighing up an attempt to try and lure the 32-year-old to the Premier League after a public bust-up with current club Barcelona.
Messi was unhappy with comments made by the club’s sporting director Eric Abidal which suggested that the player power played a part in the decision to sack Ernesto Valverde last month.
Taking to social media, Messi responded to Abidal’s comments, writing: “Those in charge of sporting direction should also face up to their responsibilities and above all take charge of their own decisions.
“When you talk about players you should give names, otherwise you are tainting everyone’s name and feeding rumours which are not true.”
The spat is said to have put City on red alert, with the club believing a reunion with former boss Pep Guardiola will appeal to Messi.
City bigwigs Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristan are also said to hold a good relationship with the forward, which leaves them well-placed to sign Messi if he decides his time at the Nou Camp is up.
