ManySpins.com conducted a study on the supercar collections of the world’s 50 highest-paid athletes based on the Forbes 2021 list. From the results of the study and synthesis, Messi rose to the top in terms of the value of the supercar collection, estimated at more than 28 million pounds.

Messi’s collection now includes 13 cars, worth a total of £28,169,068, topping the list, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in second place. The Portuguese striker owns more cars than Messi, with 19. However, Ronaldo’s total supercar value is much lower, at around £18 million.

According to ManySpins.com, the value of Messi’s car collection has skyrocketed since he bought a 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti in 2016. He reportedly outbid Ronaldo at an auction five years ago to buy the classic sports car and add it to his collection.

This isn’t the only Ferrari in Messi’s collection, as he also owns a special edition of the F430 Spider. Messi also owns a pair of Range Rovers that he regularly uses to get to training, go to the supermarket, or take his kids to school.

Perhaps the most lavish car in Messi’s collection is the Pagani Zonda Roadster, one of the most expensive cars in the world but because it is not legal, it is in the collection at Messi’s garage for aesthetic reasons.

In addition, Messi’s garage also has a Toyota Prius that he was given after the 2011 Club World Cup, a Mini Cooper, Cadillac Escalade, Dodge Charger, Mercedes SLS, 3 Audis, 2 Maseratis and a Lexus.

F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is third with a collection of nine cars worth £12.4m. In fourth is boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Messi’s PSG team-mate Neymar is fifth.

F1 driver Max Verstappen, football player Tom Brady, basketball player Kevin Durant and soccer player Paul Pogba also made the top 10. Conor McGregor, despite leading the list of the world’s richest athletes, only ranked 9th in terms of spending money on supercars.
