Draymond Green has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Golden State Warriors and become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. His ideal destination could be the Los Angeles Lakers, who have been pursuing Green since before the 2022/23 season.

Green and Lakers’ LeBron James were recently spotted at a party in France on the day the 33-year-old ended his contract with the Golden State Warriors.
It’s not unreasonable for the two stars to appear together, as both players share the same agent. Rich Paul, of Klutch Sports Group, represents both. Outside of basketball, Green and James are business partners, as well as close friends. The four-time NBA champion has invested in James’ tequila brand, Lobos 1707, and has been spotted hanging out together on other occasions.

James has been courting the Warriors star since before the 2022/23 season. He calls Green one of the smartest players around and wants to play alongside the four-time All-Star. Green has also expressed his desire to play alongside James in the past.
Mike Dunleavy is the Warriors’ new general manager, and he’ll do everything in his power to keep Draymond Green in Golden State. However, the decision still rests with Green.
