Jakub Kiwior to remain at Arsenal this season

Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior (24) is expected to remain at Arsenal this season, according to a report this Tuesday from Foot Mercato. The outlet understands that a handful of European clubs, including Villarreal, Bologna and Fiorentina have enquired about the Poland international’s future and even submitted official bids to the Gunners. Kiwior signed for Arsenal from Spezia in a €20m deal during the 2023 winter transfer window. The 24-year-old versatile defender remains tied with Arsenal over a contract set to expire in 2028.

The outlet understands that Arsenal rejected all bids coming their way for Kiwior. The latter intends to stick with Mikel Arteta’s side and fight for his place despite heightened competition at the back following Riccardo Calafiori’s signing and Jurrien Timber’s return from injury. Foot Mercato understands that Kiwior is to compete with Oleksandr Zinchenko to play at left-back.
