ICE officers begin carrying out raids in Chicago, around U.S.; acting deputy AG and border czar in town to ‘observe’

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have started carrying out targeted raids in Chicago on people marked for deportation. Two top officials from the Donald Trump administration were in the city Sunday to oversee the operation, including the president’s border czar, Tom Homan. Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove also visited Chicago on Sunday to witness the start of ramped-up immigration enforcement in the nation’s third-largest city that’s been promised by the Donald Trump administration, though few details of the operation were made public.
