Erik ten Hag says he is not getting carried away but insists his Manchester United side are heading in the right direction after thrashing League One Barnsley 7-0 in the Carabao Cup.
Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Christian Eriksen all scored doubles and Antony scored from the spot to ensure United sailed through to the fourth round.
It follows a 3-0 win over Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday, with United having now won back-to-back games following their 3-0 defeat to rivals Liverpool earlier in the season.
But ten Hag called for calm heads after tonight’s victory.
He said: “I was not devastated after Liverpool. Now I am not celebrating. We are on a journey, we will see where we are in May. We have to progress the team.
“For me and for the team, it was the perfect night. I think we did everything we planned to do. We won, we’re in the next round, we scored some great goals, good defence, we worked on our game model, so we are happy.”
