Here’s what you need to know about Avril Lavigne’s nearly sold out Vancouver concert

In 2001, Avril Lavigne was a typical Canadian teenager.

Now she’s a super star, slammin’ on her guitar.

And she’ll be slamming on that guitar on Wednesday, May 22 in Rogers Arena as her greatest hits tour rolls into town.

Vancouver is the first date of the tour, which has 45 shows listed around the world (well, Europe and North America) as of right now.

Getting tickets might be complicated, as the show is essentially sold out with only a few resale tickets available right now (more below).

There appears to be some uncertainty with the time doors open. Ticketmaster states they’ll open at 5:30 p.m. while Rogers Arena’s site lists 7 p.m.

There are two opening acts for Lavigne: long-time pop-punkers All Time Low (best known for “Good Times” or “Monsters“) and solo artist Royal and the Serpent (who had success with “Overwhelmed“).

Tickets for Avril Lavigne at Rogers Arena in Vancouver

As mentioned, tickets are scarce for the show on Ticketmaster. Only a couple of hundred seats are available in the arena, and all are resale tickets going for a variety of prices.

Right now the cheapest tickets are a couple of seats running just under $150 (after fees). Prices range though due to the resale options, with most tickets going for at least $180.

Front-row floor seats are running between $400 and more than $500, while the pit has tickets starting at $350.

Transportation to/from Rogers Arena

Due to maintenance on the Canada Line starting at 11 p.m., folks using the SkyTrain to head south may experience some delays heading home after the show.

People using the SkyTrain to get to and from Surrey should be aware of the continued work at King George Station which has meant a bus bridge is in place.

Hullo has not announced any extra ferry service for fans coming from Vancouver Island for Lavigne’s show.

Restrictions at the venue

A few things aren’t allowed in Rogers Arena during concerts. Notably, some bags won’t be permitted; all bags need to be under 35.5 cm by 35.5 cm by 15.2 cm. For reference, 35.5 cm is just a bit over 13 inches.

Rogers Arena is also a smoke-free zone, as far as cigarettes and cannabis are concerned. The band may have smoke machines.

Other common sense items are to be left at home as well, like skateboards, selfie sticks, and outside food and drinks.

Cashless Venue

While the outdoor merch stations will accept cash, Rogers Arena has gone cashless.

“Concession, retail stands, & hospitality will exclusively accept contactless forms of payment,” states the venue’s website.

Fan Service for issues during the show

Rogers Arena has a fan service number to text if there are any issues during the show: 604-765-3267.

Concert-goers can text their issue and their location (seat number and row along with the section) and get help.
