At least that’s the case for bags this season; micro bags have taken their place in the giant sizes.
In recent years, the trend has started to swing in the opposite direction, with the introduction of giant tote bags, everything from small accessories like lip gloss and credit cards to comically microscopic MSCHF handbags.
“People are ready for something new,” said Joni Pangsaeng, Reformation’s senior director of design and marketing. Zoe Reportsuggests that mini-bag “fatigue” is a major cause of the big-bag boom.

“They’re going from the gym to the office to dinner, and then they’re traveling a lot,” Jennie McCormick, chief design and marketing officer for the women’s category at Rag & Bone, told The Zoe Report. “I don’t think people want to carry multiple bags, or particularly one that looks like a ‘work bag’ or a ‘travel bag.’”
The runways are also awash with overflowing, oversized shoulder bags.

But some experts believe the interest in giant bags is two-fold.
