Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli Join Brazil Squad Ahead of Copa America

While Arsenal’s season comes to an end, a number of players who will be representing their nations in the summer are getting ready for competitions. Gabriel Magalhães and Gabriel Martinelli, two of Arsenal’s Brazilian players, have been called up for the Copa América, but Gabriel Jesus has been left out because of injuries and problems getting a berth on the team.

For defender Gabriel Magalhães, excitement gave way to worry after he was hurt in Arsenal’s last game against Everton. After experiencing discomfort in his right shoulder and needing to leave the game, Gabriel received treatment in São Paulo for ten days, and he showed notable progress. After tests in London, he had to wear a sling for two weeks due to a slight dislocation.

This Wednesday in Orlando, the Brazilian national team starts getting ready for the Copa América in the United States as well as forthcoming friendlies. The team will be evaluated, with Gabriel Magalhães receiving special consideration. He is expected to be cleared to play in the friendly against Mexico on June 8 in Texas by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) medical team when they evaluate him on Thursday.

According to reports from Brazil, Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar of the CBF was advised by Arsenal’s medical director, Dr. Zafar Iqbal, that Gabriel’s ιnjury was not serious. In order to keep himself in shape and take care of his shoulder, Gabriel adhered to a closely watched rehabilitation programme. He recently shared training videos in which he looked at ease and had stopped using the sling.

Gabriel saw multiple Corinthians games when he was in São Paulo, where his protective sling attracted notice. It was a precautionary measure, according to sources close to the athlete.

This Wednesday, the managers and coaching staff of the Brazilian team will travel to Orlando to begin Copa América preparations. 19 of the 26 players that were chosen are anticipated to arrive in the United States by Thursday; the remaining players will arrive later because of their obligations in Brazil and the Champions League final in London.

Brazil will train at the Orlando Sports Complex through June 6th, after which they will head to College Station, Texas, to play Mexico on June 8th. On June 12, they will play the United States in Florida. Brazil’s Copa América campaign begins on June 24 in Group D, which also includes Paraguay and Colombia, at Inglewood, California, against Costa Rica.
