Expected lineup Liverpool vs Southampton: Salah and Nunez return?

Expected lineup for the match between Liverpool and Southampton in the 5th round of the FA Cup at 3:00 a.m. on February 29. Updated lineup for the match between Liverpool and Southampton.Liverpool can welcome the return of three key players for the match against Southampton in the FA Cup. Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai all almost took a place in the squad that defeated Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final. Now, the possibility of them playing is getting bigger and bigger.

However, manager Jurgen Klopp faces two new worries. Midfielder Wataru Endo left Wembley on crutches and wearing a protective boot, while Ryan Gravenberch was taken off on a stretcher, with a risk of ankle ligament damage.

Central midfield is where Liverpool suffered the most when Curtis Jones, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic were all absent due to injury. Bobby Clark and James McConnell are among the teenagers who impressed against Chelsea and could be in line to start midweek. Meanwhile, Szoboszlai could return from the bench.

Diaz could be rested if Salah and Nunez return

In defence, Jarell Quansah and Kostas Tsimikas are available to replace regular starters who need a rest when the fixtures are packed. Caoimhin Kelleher will continue to start in the absence of Alisson Becker.

Klopp can rest Luis Diaz if Salah and Nunez are fit to play from the start after seeing the Colombian player start 11 of Liverpool’s 12 matches since the beginning of the year, only sitting on the bench in the win over Norwich in the FA Cup.
