Working with stylist Andrew Mukamal, Margot Robbie has delivered one of the most stylish and impressive press tours in recent memory in her press tour for the Barbie movie.
The New York-based stylist dove into the Mattel archives, unearthing and recreating some of the doll’s most iconic looks, ranging from the elegant ‘Enchanted Evening’ Barbie of 1960 to the colourful ‘Earring Magic’ Barbie of 1992.
Dressed in custom designs from designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Pucci, Schiaparelli Haute Couture, and an endless stream of pink Manolo Blahnik heels, the Australian actress has transformed herself into her character of Barbie, on and off the screen, thanks to her glam team’s immaculate attention to detail.

To kick things off, the Oscar-nominated actress pulled inspiration from supermodels of the 90s, wearing a metallic pink mini skirt and pale pink cropped polo neck jumper from the Versace autumn/winter 1994 collection.
Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer appeared in the original advertising campaign for this collection, with Robbie’s look previously worn by Christy Turlington.
At the Barbie Celebration Party at Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, her stylist pulled yet another look from the archives, dressing the star in a 1994 Versace Atelier rose gold mini dress, featuring a bustier neckline and flounced mini skirt.
The striking dress was also modeled by Claudia Schiffer.
Next, the 32-year-old strayed from her pink palette while promoting the movie on Sydney’s Bondi Beach, paying tribute to the ‘The Original’ Barbie doll.
Created by Ruth Handler, the original Barbie was made in 1959 and featured arched eyebrows, red lips, rooted hair with soft poodle bangs, and gold hoop earrings.
Robbie copied the original black and white zebra swimsuit by wearing a monochromatic striped mini dress from Hervé Léger and some retro-inspired white sunglasses from Jacques Marie Mage.
Staying with the 50s-inspired style, Robbie wore a halter-neck mini dress from Moschino, featuring a graphic strawberry print and matching belt, which she paired with her white sunglasses and a white handbag with gold handle.
Strolling through Sydney airport, Robbie was snapped wearing a pale pink tweed blazer and grey trousers from Chanel’s spring/summer 1996 collection.
Her bags were from Steamline luggage: The Entrepreneur Pink Hatbox Small, and The Entrepreneur Pink Carryon.

For a Los Angeles photo call, Robbie once again took direct inspiration from her character.
Dressed as the ‘Pink and Fabulous’ Barbie of 2015, she wore a pink polka dot mini dress from Valentino along with a yellow Valentino handbag, an Assael pearl bracelet, and a pair of white Manolo Blahniks.

Standing next to a Barbie-pink car, Robbie stunned inn a custom pink two-piece by Bottega Veneta. Mukamal styled the look with pink Manolo Blahnik heels, an ankle bracelet, and her white sunglasses from Jacques Marie Mage.
Landing in Seoul, along with castmate America Ferrera and Director Greta Gerwig, Robbie’s two custom-made Versace looks transformed her into the 1985 ‘Day to Night’ Barbie – a doll that was ready to take on the workplace and the town.
She also added a traditional hanbok dress during the event. It was, of course, bright pink.

Walking the pink carpet in a pink power suit complete with a pink scarf, a white hat trimmed with a pink polka dot ribbon, and a bright pink clutch, Robbie proved her commitment to the world of Barbie.
Styled once again by Mukamal, the Aussie actress drove the look home with a chunky bedazzled pink phone straight from the 80s – antenna and all – and a pair of cream and white heels from Manolo Blahnik.
Later, Robbie had fans later into a pink evening look, inspired by the doll’s shirred skirt. The sparkling pink dress was paired with a bedazzled purple and pink clutch and colourful statement rings.
Inspired by the ‘Sparkling Pink’ Barbie of 1964, stylist Andrew Mukamal dressed Robbie in a pink set from Moschino’s Spring/Summer 2015 ready-to-wear collection – a collection that was inspired by the Mattel doll.
At the time, American designer Jeremy Scott was the brand’s creative director, and he told Vogue that the show was inspired by a doll that he had loved since childhood: “She’s a good big sister, she’s had every job in the world, worn every outfit. And it’s just joyful. Her and I share the same things: We just want to bring joy to people.”
Attending a press conference in Seoul, Robbie paired the sparkling cropped three-piece ensemble with a matching pink pillbox hat, a quilted pink heart clutch, and a pair of pink peep-toe shoes from Manolo Blahnik.
Hair stylist Bryce Scarlett styled Robbie’s hair into barrel curls, while make-up artist Pati Dubroff added a light pink lip to the look, and South Korean nail artist Cho painted a baby-pink base and hot-pink tips to the star’s nails.

Posing alongside co-stars Ryan Gosling and America Ferreira at Plaza Parque Toreo in Mexico, Robbie nailed yet another all-pink look.
Inspired by the ‘Earring Magic’ Barbie of 1992, stylist Andrew Mukamel dressed the actress in a pink Balmain mini-dress with sheer sleeves, a pair of bright pink Manolo Blahnik shoes, eye-catching silver earrings with large hearts and stars, and a matching silver belt.
To complete the look, hair stylist Bryce Scarlett styled her blonde locks in waves to match the big hair of the 90s doll.
Appearing at a photo call at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City, Margot Robbie was once again picture-perfect during her jaw-dropping press tour.
Robbie was transformed into the ‘Totally Hair’ Barbie of 1992 with a colourful Emilio Pucci mini-dress. Chanel nail artist Betina R. Goldstein added a matching kaleidoscopic print to the star’s nails, while stylist Andrew Mukamel added some outstanding accessories to the look.
As well as a pale pink Chanel handbag, and an incredible pair of pink Chanel earrings, Robbie wore a Taffin ring resembling a Ring Pop – a popular sweet from the 90s.
Her shoes, as always, were a pair of pink Manolo Blahniks.

Margot shook things us while attending the World Premiere of Barbie, held at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, dressed as ‘Solo in the Spotlight’ Barbie of 1960.
Stylist Andrew Mukamal ditched the familiar pink colour palette of the tour for a glittering black gown and matching black gloves.
Custom-made by Schiaparelli Haute Couture, the bustier dress was fully embroidered with sequins and featured multiple layers of pale pink tulle as well as a hand-painted embroidered red rose.
The Australian actress paired the strapless number with a pair of black peep-toe heels from Manolo Blahnik, a Lorraine Schwartz crystal choker, and a pink chiffon scarf.
Chanel make-up artist Pati Dubroff completed the look with a bold red lip while hair stylist Bryce Scarlett swept Robbie’s hair into a dramatic ponytail.
For the European premiere, which took place at Cineworld Leicester Square in London, Robbie wore a custom Vivienne Westwood gown.
Styled by Mukamal, the actress wore dressed as the ‘Enchanted Evening’ Barbie of 1960 in a show-stopping pink satin gown, complemented by a white stole, long white gloves, a triple strand pearl choker, and pearl earrings from Assael.
Eagle eyes will spot the Westwood orb logo placed in the centre of the satin flower placed on the star’s waist.
To polish off the look, Robbie’s nails were painted a pale pink by celeb manicurist Michelle Class, while hair stylist Bryce Scarlett swept her blonde locks into an elegant up-do.

Following the premiere, Margot Robbie wore a red corset dress from Dilara Fındıkoğlu to attend the Barbie VIP Photocall alongside her castmates America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Ryan Gosling, and Greta Gerwig.
Robbie paired the strapless number with a pair of strappy red shoes from Maison Ernest and pearl earrings from Assael while lighting up the London Eye in pink lights.
Mukamal didn’t give any reference details in his Instagram posts, but some fashion fans have guessed that the mini-dress was influenced by the Bubblecut Barbie of 1962.
However, while every other outfit seen on the press tour has been an almost perfect replication of Barbie’s various outfits throughout the years, this outfit had some notable differences with the exception of the Maison Ernest red heels which were a perfect match.
The night was followed by yet another press call in London where Robbie donned some fluffy Vivienne Westwood accessories including a pair of sky-high platform heels and a matching box handbag featuring faux fur and the iconic orb logo.
The actress returned to the Barbie-inspired pink palette, wearing a matching skirt suit from the British designer, featuring red piping, a pink floral print and pink strings. Mukamel styled the look with a white ankle bracelet as well as a show-stopping ring and earrings from Tiffany’s.
Hair stylist Scarlett created Hollywood-worthy barrel curls, while Chanel makeup artist Dubroff applied a peachy look to the star’s complexion along with a soft smokey eye, and a neutral lip.

In November 2023, walking the red carpet of wearing the Deadline Contenders: Los Angeles event, Robbie strayed from her pink palette in favour of a retro-inspired white shirt tied at the bust and high waisted wide-legged jeans that were turned up at the cuffs. She accessorised with a cherry red belt and matching handbag and peep toe shoes, all by Bottega Veneta.
While attending the 33rd Gotham Awards in NYC, the Aussie actress continues to stray from the Barbie-pink palette for a little black Prada dress. Inspired by Black Magic Ensemble Barbie of 1964, Robbie wore a sheer black cape, leather gloves, a simple hairband and a pair of pearl earrings to complete the look.

At the 2024 Golden Globes, where the Barbie movie picked up a trophy in a new category, ‘Outstanding Cinematic and Box Office Achievement’, Robbie dressed as Superstar Barbie of 1977 by wearing a sequined pink gown from Armani and pink Manolo Blahnik heels.
This was followed by a black sequin dress from Armani Privé that mirrored the Black and Silver Shimmer Barbie of 1977.
