Philadelphia Eagles
Slay Jr. will be released by the Eagles in a money-saving move, but he could return to Philly on a cheaper deal. Before the Super Bowl, Slay Jr. said that he plans to play one more year and was hoping to do so in Philly. Ultimately, he probably won’t find a better situation than the one he has been in over the last few years. Despite a 2023 season that finished poorly, the Eagles have been one of the NFL’s best teams recently, reaching the Super Bowl in two of three years while winning the big game this past season. With a unit full of young stars led by highly regarded defensive mind Vic Fangio, Philly figures to be in contention again in 2025. Retaining Slay Jr. would be a significant boost, particularly if the Eagles lose cornerback depth with James Bradberry Jr., Avonte Maddox and Isaiah Rodgers hitting free agency.
