Dejounte Murray injury: Pelicans guard leaves Celtics game

The Pelicans have dealt with plenty of injuries this season, and unfortunately, it looks like Dejounte Murray suffered a new one. The guard had to leave Friday’s game against the Celtics early due to a non-contact injury.

While there is still no official word from the Pelicans, Murray left the arena early Friday on crunches and in a boot, per the NBC Sports Boston broadcast.

It’s unclear what Murray’s injury is at this point. On the play where the injury happened, Murray went up for a rebound off his own miss. But after securing the ball, he immediately crumpled to the floor.

Murray eventually left the game with 3:51 left in the first quarter. Initially, he hobbled off the court under his own power but needed help returning to the locker room afterwards.

Murray left the game with four points, five rebounds and three turnovers, shooting 2-for-6 from the field.
