Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has officially set a time to retire from football.
Cristiano Ronaldo considers retirement.
The performance at EURO 2024 was truly disappointing for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Cr7 fired 20 shots but did not score a single goal in Germany.
Disappointment with Ronaldo increased when some people thought he was greedy in the countless free kicks that Ronaldo “stole” from Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva or Vitinha but failed to score throughout the tournament.
According to the latest news, Ronaldo has decided to retire from football to focus on his family and business. More specifically, the Portuguese striker will leave football permanently in May 2025, after the Saudi Arabian National Championship (Saudi Pro League).
Last February, Ronaldo turned 39. At that time, Cr7 shared with his family that in 2025 he would turn 40 years old and the possibility of retiring was possible.
Regarding this issue, Claudia Jacques, the female MC for the V+FAMA program, commented: “I am not surprised. It is better for C. Ronaldo to hang up his boots, in a state of full health. Ronaldo has many businesses, from hotels to hair transplant clinics.
He will have a lot of work ahead of him and will have more time for his little family. He is a very family-oriented man and wants to devote himself to his family.”
However, Al Nassr Club and fans expect Ronaldo to play until 2026 and say goodbye after the 2026 World Cup. If he participates in the 2026 World Cup finals, C. Ronaldo will be the first person in history to play in 6 different World Cups.
According to Spanish newspaper El Nacional, C. Ronaldo has asked the Al Nassr Club Board of Directors to sign Manchester United’s Antony this summer.
Antony, 24, has yet to live up to his transfer fee at the Red Devils, scoring just 11 goals and providing five assists in 82 appearances for United since joining from Ajax in a £86m deal in 2022.
