COIN band to break up following “revelations” against two of its members, per social media announcement

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville-based rock trio Coin announced its disbandment today, following “behaviors” against two of its members.

In a statement posted on Instagram, lead singer and keyboard player Chase Lawrence shared the news, revealing that “revelations” regarding guitarist Joe Memmel, along with the recent departure of founding drummer Ryan Winnen, have led to the difficult decision to dissolve the band.

Lawrence did not provide details about the nature of their actions but expressed that they were serious enough to prevent Coin from continuing.

Coin had already announced Winnen was stepping away from the band “to focus on some personal matters.” This news came as the group prepared for their upcoming tour, which was slated to resume on Feb. 8 in Denver.

“These developments have led me to the decision that COIN can no longer continue as a band,” Lawrence wrote in the band’s statement.

The news marks a sudden end for Coin, known for their catchy blend of pop and rock. The band had built a loyal following with over 2.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify with hits such as “Talk Too Much” and “Chapstick”.

Lawrence did add that he is “not done making music yet.”
