A lot can happen within the course of a single month. After telling her fans that she wouldn’t release her sophomore album this year, it looks like Cardi B may begin promoting her sophomore LP this summer.
In May, Cardi B found herself in the middle of a “heated” exchange with a fan regarding the release of hte New York native’s long awaited sophomore album. An X user under the name, Ty, seemingly mocked Cardi B’s habit of hinting at new music.
“‘I’m so excited to put out new music! ‘I can’t wait to drop my album.’ ‘Wait until I drop this song! ‘Album coming soon,” Ty wrote.
Cardi B engaged with tweet, but then deleted her response. In response, a Cardi B fan page replied to the GRAMMY Award winner’s tweet with a question.
Shortly thereafter, a back-and-forth between Cardi B and her fans ensued.
Ultimately, the conversation ended with the New York native writing, “No alburn this year. I don’t care I’m relaxing this year,”
Four weeks later, it looks like she has reversed course on her initial statement. During a performance in New York this weekend, the Bronx native asked the crowd if they were ready for a new album.
“Who’s ready for the album announcement? It’s coming real soon,” she told the -crowd. As expected, many fans are skeptical about the announcement. “I’ll believe it when it happens… she said it’ll be sooner than ever last month,” one reply reads.
The GRAMMY Award winner didn’t define what “real soon” exactly means, but the world of music will be waiting to see when she returns with more info.
