Three days after announcing she was pregnant with baby No. 3, Cardi B is relieved to no longer have to hide her bougeoning baby bump behind baggy fashion and ineffective umbrella handlers.
The expecting 31-year-old – who boasts 280M social media followers – tweeted on Sunday: ‘I’m so happy y’all know I’m [pregnant] now [so] I can stop wearing those [damn] schoolgirl skirts lmaoooooo!’
Indeed, Cardi (born Belcalis Almánzar) did use a tiny Birkin bag and a grey schoolgirl skirt to shield her bump in an Instagram slideshow from May 31.
It was bittersweet considering the half-Dominican, half-Trinidadian star filed for divorce (for the second time) from rapper Offset last Wednesday, her rep confirmed to Page Six.
‘With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life, and most of all renewed my power!’ Cardi wrote on Instagram.
‘Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!’
The Bronx native wants primary physical custody of her two children – six-year-old daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus and two-year-old son Wave Set Cephus – with the 32-year-old Migos alum (born Kiari Kendrell Cephus).
On Monday, Offset Instastoried a snap of little Wave holding four stacks of cash to his ear like a phone seemingly as a not-so-subtle way of showing he plans to continue to ‘pay for the bills he already pays on the kids and the new one.’
It came two days after Cardi blasted reports that she requested child support from the three-time Grammy nominee, who ‘helps me a lot with my business and the kids.’
The On Dat Money rapper and Offset previously separated from December 5, 2018 to January 31, 2019 amid cheating allegations, but that was evidently not the issue this time around.
The on/off hip-hop power couple – whose first date was the 2017 Super Bowl – reportedly separated last November after six years of marriage.
Cardi – who gets 30.8M monthly listeners on Spotify – has yet to release the sophomore follow-up to her 2018 debut studio album Invasion of Privacy.
